Solange's Video 'Losing You'

Haven't blogged in a while, due to having a huge amount of work to do and sorting out university applications. However I just cannot get enough of watching Solange's new video. I adore it! shes added style throughout, the fitted two piece suits, the 80's feel, the setting/location, the different camera shots, the people shes included in the video ..long braids..big Afro curly hair, bold look, the colors ..ALL OF IT l o v e. The music video was filmed in South Africa Capetown,directed by Melina Matsoukas . I think its great when an artist really makes effort to travel out to particular locations to get the video and outcome they have pictured. Not to forget the dudes in this video, I'm thinking their South African, they look like they'd be so much fun to work with, their hair to the glasses to the tailored suits to BOLD colors their truly popping. Solange is bring new ideas for music industry in terms of location and the fashion industry the colors the mixture of patterns .. Sure makes me want to explore with more patterns and bold colors.

Solange says.. “When Melina [Matsoukas, director] and I decided to film ‘Losing You’ in South Africa, we really didn’t have a real firm concept in place. It was sort of a grab a camera and let’s go moment. I knew I wanted to capture a couple things: the vibe of our friendship and all of the crazy escapades we’ve gotten ourselves into all over the world and the abstract and elegant Le Sape society (Society for the Advancement of People of Elegance) formed in The Congo which was documented by Daniele Tamagni in his Gentleman of Bacongo book. We called Daniele to guide us, and some of my friends from New York came down to Cape Town and we all had a very damn good time.”

Solange Knowles aged 26 model, song writer, actress&DJ. She's recently inspired many girls to do box braids. Her box braids look great on her. The length of her box braids tend to be so long and kind of thick. I can imagine them being so heavy and difficult to take care of, besides that she rocks them!. She's also inspired many to have there natural hair, now a days i'm seeing more box braids, and more natural hair, everyone forgetting about weave and hair extensions?
She's also a fashion inspiration to many.

'Stop there, I like your outfit of the day' {London}

The details on her shorts are from a wedding dress! when I heard this, I thought Wow what  an original idea. She went onto to tell me how she wants to be a fashion designer! Obiviously I said "oh my go for it" she truly is unique' tell me you know someone who has parts of a wedding dress on shorts or any clothing, apart from a wedding dress i'll gladly tell you to show me some evidence. I think this girl could be a designer, 'Think big, dream it, make it happen.
